It is in very good condition and has been checked out and is mechanically sound, but I didn't know a lot about BMW's when I purchased it ( J esus, how complicated can an auto manufacturer actually make options packages? For the love of God!!!!) and now I have run into a question regarding the ability to use my phone and Bluetooth.1. I just purchased a used 2010 335i coupe convertible with 55K miles. The phone options are also grayed out on the LCD screen.Īm I missing something obvious here or did I purchase the one BMW in the world missing this technology? If so, is it now a high-value collectors item like a mis-stamped 1915 silver dollar? (sarcasm intended) #Esu idrive BluetoothEveryone at the dealership claims they have never seen a 335i without Bluetooth - but yet there are no options to pair my phone and I get a big fat nothing when I press the phone button. I went to the local dealer and apparently in the year 2015 we can send rovers to Mars and remove brain tumors, but they can't pull a build sheet on this vehicle or even tell me themselves whether or not it's supposed to have Bluetooth. Maybe it's my ignorance regarding BMW's, but I can't wrap my head around the fact that it would be possible for a 'luxury' auto manufacturer like BMW to sell a vehicle like this with the buttons and everything else installed and NOT have this technology included in the vehicle - ESPECIALLY when my wife's Honda CR-V (an obviously much less expensive vehicle) had FANTASTIC Bluetooth pairing and phone technology included. I'm more pissed off than a deaf, dumb, mute playing bingo, winning bingo, and trying to yell bingo! Maybe it didn't come equipped with Bluetooth/phone capabilities. I have been going in frustrating circles trying to pair my iPhone and get Bluetooth to work - and then it occurred to me. I even have reasonable intelligence and the ability to problem-solve so, everything seems to be in place.īut it ain't. It has navigation (and yes, it works too). It has the buttons for the phone on the steering wheel. To begin, the car does have iDrive with the knob on the center console. It is in very good condition and has been checked out and is mechanically sound, but I didn't know a lot about BMW's when I purchased it ( Jesus, how complicated can an auto manufacturer actually make options packages? For the love of God!!!!) and now I have run into a question regarding the ability to use my phone and Bluetooth. I am hoping that some of you seasoned Bimmer owners can help! I am a new BMW owner and this is my first post - but no one (including the local dealer) has an answer for me.
